Cape Wrath is famous as the most north-westerly point in mainland Britain. The cape is a unique and isolated landscape area covering roughly 107 sq. miles of moorland, an area known as the Parph. It is cut off from mainland Scotland by the Kyle of Durness, and the only access is a passenger ferry crossing the Kyle.

The Cave of Gold (Uamh Oir in Gaelic) is an isolated sea cave formed of striking basalt columns, much like the famous Fingal's Cave on Staffa and the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland. The cave is reached by a short walk along the coast at Bornesketaig, on Skye's Trotternish Peninsula.

A picturesque waterfall is easily visible from the road bridge at Torridon House, between Torridon and Inveralligin on the north bank of Loch Torridon. There is a parking area near the falls, which are at the start of a popular walk behind Liatach to Glen Torridon.

Copinsay is an uninhabited island in the Orkneys, famous for its large colonies of kittiwakes, guillemots and razorbills. Fulmars and puffins also breed along the cliffs of Copinsay. The RSPB purchased the entire island as a memorial to naturalist James Fisher.

Corrieshalloch is a spectacular mile-long gorge, reaching 200 ft (61m) deep. A lovely walk through woodland brings you to a suspension bridge spanning the gorge above the Falls of Measach, fed by the River Droma as it travels north to Loch Broom and the sea. A longer walk brings you to a viewing platform jutting out over the gorge for wonderful views of the waterfall.
