Castle Stalker photo, Castle Stalker

One of the most stunningly beautiful castle sites in Scotland. Castle Stalker lies on a small islet in Loch Laich, near Appin, Argyll. Moviegoers will recognise Stalker from its role in the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The first castle here dates to 1320 and was built for Clan MacDougall. The current building was erected by the Stewarts, sometime shortly after they took over the lordship of this area around 1388.
