Old Crimond school
The village of Crimond is situated in an agricultural area of Aberdeenshire, on the A90 between Fraserburgh and Peterhead. The name 'Crimond' was given to a psalm tune, possibly named in honour of Jessie Irvine, daughter of the minister of Crimond parish.

Perhaps more famously, Crimond played a part in the old song, 'Logie O' Buchan', named for Logie in Crimond, home of the Gordon family.

The parish of Crimond was once the site of the now-vanished royal burgh of Rattray, which stood near to the present location of Rattray Head Lighthouse.

Within a few miles are historic Cairnbulg Castle and Cairness House, and the ancient sites of Memsie Cairn and Berrybrae Stone Circle.
